First United Methodist Church partners with Trinity United Methodist Church in support of Family Promise, a non-denominational organization for homeless families in crisis. We help by providing evening meals and volunteers to spend the evening with up to three families for a week four times a year. It’s a great hands-on mission that our children can share with us.

Most of the guests are single mothers with children. Pairs of volunteers work in shifts to serve food, help with homework, play with the children, and spend the night. Family Promise provides breakfast, showers, and a daytime facility for the families.

All those who assist must attend one orientation class and then can sign up for dates/time slots on the Internet.
