Bah Humbug!  Who among us has never needed a second chance? Ebenezer Scrooge is a man in dire need of exactly that. But is redemption even possible for such a greedy, sad, and dark character? Scrooge discovers through his search for a second chance that he first must confront his own Christmas past, Christmas present, and Christmas future. It is through each stage of his journey that we discover how the teachings of Jesus also show us the way towards a second chance, or redemption.

Please join our church-wide study of these teachings through the lens of Charles Dickens’ classic Yuletide story, A Christmas Carol. Matt Rawles, lead pastor at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana, is the author and host of this special Advent video series. Each approximately ten-minute video will be followed by discussion or other activities.

Four concurrent classes for both adults and for youth will be conducted twice each week during the four weeks of Advent. There will also be a children’s table activity related to the book theme, so this is for the whole family. On Wednesday nights you can come for a light supper at 6:00 PM before beginning the class at 6:45 PM. Or if Wednesdays don’t work, join the class during Sunday school time between the first and second worship services 10:00-10:50 AM,and stop in the Narthex for a special holiday goody to bring with you. Hope you will join us.  Come at any time!
