The proposed water pipeline from the Wabash aquifer to the LEAP Lebanon district has raised many questions. Is there enough water for all? Are local water uses threatened? What about the aquatic ecosystem in the Wabash River? Was this dry summer indicative of our future climate? Whose water is it, anyway?

As Christians, we recognize the precious gift of water and our responsibility to be good stewards of God’s creation. This Sunday School series will examine and discuss the local water issue and also broader water concerns around the nation and world. We will look at water shortage and excess, policy opportunities, and how water images in the Bible and many of our hymns can enlighten and encourage us.

The series will be led by Jane Frankenberger, First United Methodist Church member, and professor at Purdue University who specializes in water management and engineering. She has been active in discussions of the proposed pipeline, and has worked on national water quality issues as well as irrigation projects globally.

All are welcome to join us every Sunday at 10:00 AM in Room 211 (upstairs) from January 14 to February 11, 2024.

To ensure adequate seating, RSVP online or email Jane Frankenberger.
