Each year the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Foundation offers scholarships to students in the community, reflecting our dedication to education. Scholarship applications for 2024 are open now through Friday, April 5, 2024. The FUMC Foundation scholarship committee will review all applications.

D.H. Patterson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Mr. D.H. Patterson, long-time member of First United Methodist Church, the West Lafayette community, and the faculty of Purdue University. This scholarship is for Purdue University students pursuing a four-year degree, with preference given to those actively involved in Wesley Foundation and/or First Church programs.
Robert E. Straszheim Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund, established by the family of the late Robert E. Straszheim, proposes to assist worthy protestant students, in training for full-time Christian work. This scholarship is for students intending to pursue full-time Christian work at an accredited college, university, or seminary, with awards based partly on financial need and favorable personal qualities.
