Each year the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Foundation offers scholarships to students in the community, reflecting our dedication to education. Scholarship applications for 2026 are open now through Sunday, May 31, 2026. The FUMC Foundation scholarship committee will review all applications. Recipients will be notified of their award by June 30.

Losey Patterson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memories of Roberta Losey Patterson and D. H. Patterson, long-time members of First United Methodist Church and the West Lafayette community. Mr. Patterson was also a member of the Purdue University faculty and taught in Foreign Languages. The Pattersons strongly supported the spiritual and intellectual growth of Purdue students, especially those active in the ministries of First United Methodist Church and of Wesley Foundation at Purdue.
Robert E. Straszheim Scholarship Fund
The Robert E. Straszheim Scholarship Fund, established by the family of the late Robert E. Straszheim, proposes to assist worthy Protestant students in training for full-time Christian work.
