This year, we’re excited to continue the tradition of our beloved “We’re Out” event, but with a meaningful twist. Introducing the We’re Out: LGBTQ+ Youth Mental Health & Empowerment Summit, presented by First Church in partnership with Mental Health America Wabash Valley Region. It’s the same event you know and love, filled with community, food, and fun, now enhanced with a powerful focus on supporting LGBTQ+ youth, parents, and allies.
What to Expect:
- Inspiring Speakers: Hear from powerful voices within the LGBTQ+ community as they share their personal journeys and insights.
- Facilitated Conversations: Participate in guided discussions led by local mental health professionals and advocates.
- Resource Sharing: Access valuable resources to support the mental health and empowerment of LGBTQ+ youth.
- Small Group Breakout Sessions: Dive deeper into topics that matter to you in intimate, supportive settings.
- Community Partners: Connect with local organizations that stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and discover the resources they offer.
- Special Guests: Local musical sensation Sheeza will be hosting and performing live, bringing her incredible energy to the stage. DJ Powder will be spinning tracks throughout the night, setting the perfect vibe. We’re also thrilled to welcome Colin Teckenbrock, aka Veronica Fox from the Fox’s Den Drag Group, who will be joining us as a guest speaker. Colin is a proud Board Member of Pride Lafayette, and we’re excited to hear their inspiring words!
While the Summit is the highlight, we haven’t forgotten the importance of celebration! Enjoy the same great food, lively music, and joyful community that have made “We’re Out” a cherished event year after year.
