Welcome Dinner for International Graduate Students – August 17

On Sunday evening, August 17, First Church will again host a welcome dinner for about 150 new international graduate students at Purdue University.

International students have been arriving at Purdue since the late 19th century and throughout this time churches have played an important role in assisting them. Now more than ever these students need to know we are a welcoming community, and we understand how much people from difference cultures can learn from one another. Some Purdue international graduates stay and contribute to the quality of life and economy or our community, state, and nation. Some return to their homeland with a lifelong friendship for our country and our people.

Will you invest a couple hours in this mission? Susie Loughner is leading the kitchen staff this year. First Church people have already volunteered to help. We are seeking additional help from other churches in the community and from First Church.
