The FUMC Foundation has established Ministry Enhancement Accounts for designating gifts for specific ministry purposes. Funds in these accounts provide ongoing and recurring support for FUMC ministry and allow for the pooling of smaller gifts and endowments.
In recent years, tens of thousands of dollars from the Foundation have supported such diverse activities as FUMC mission trips to Africa and Haiti, reducing our mortgage on the buildings in which we worship, learn and fellowship, enriching the activities of Vacation Bible School, and enabling special music performances.

Building and facilities
This account provides for capital expenditures for all owned or leased properties. The FUMC Board of Trustees, in consultation with the FUMC Finance Committee, may request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors. Capital expenditures mean expenditures for land, buildings and improvements to land or buildings, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and personal property ordinarily having a useful life in excess of one year.
Youth Ministries
This account is used for youth ministry-related expenses including camperships. The FUMC Youth Ministries Director (or like position), in consultation with the FUMC Finance Committee, may request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors. (Note to Board: The campership fund is a sub-account.)
Children’s Ministries
This account is used for children’s ministry-related expenses. The FUMC Children’s Ministries Director (or like position), in consultation with the FUMC Finance Committee, may request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors.
Music and Worship Art Ministries
This account is used for music ministry-related expenses. The FUMC Director of Music and Worship Arts (or like position), in consultation with the FUMC Finance Committee and/or the FUMC Board of Trustees (in the case of purchase, repair, maintenance, or upgrades to instruments such as the organ, pianos, handbells, and other musical instruments), may request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors. (Note to Board: The Organ Fund and Piano Fund are sub-accounts.)
Mission Ministries
This account may used to fund missionary support or special missions projects locally and beyond. The FUMC Missions and Social Concerns committee, in consultation with the FUMC Finance Committee, smay request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors. (Note to Board: The Good Samaritan Storage Fund is a sub-account.)
Scholarships
This account may be used to award scholarships for post-secondary education as directed by the intentions of donors. Sub-accounts for each scholarship shall be maintained. The Scholarship Committee of the FUMC Foundation shall exercise the right to request expenditures from this account unless otherwise directed by the FUMC Foundation Board of Directors.
