Are you eager to make a difference in the lives of children? This may be the opportunity you are seeking. Klondike Kids Club is seeking to hire a supervisor and an aide able to work 2 afternoons per week, beginning January 8, 2024. This person will be working with children in grades kindergarten through third grades from 4:00 to 6:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Before the arrival of children, Staff works together to prepare and sanitize the Community Room at Point West Mobile Home Community, prepare snacks, and set out necessary supplies.  Point West is located at 2719 Klondike Road West Lafayette. Children arrive at 4:30 and leave at 6:00. CDC safety guidelines will be observed to protect our employees and children. All staff will be provided with masks and/or face shields, if they desire.

For many of the children, English is a second language, which means that often they need extra help and encouragement with homework assignments. Our parents are very supportive of their children’s education, but are frequently unable to help with homework because of language barriers.  Families that we serve are the recipients of the government’s free and reduced lunch program

Klondike Kids Club is sponsored by First United Methodist Church West Lafayette, in collaboration with Klondike Elementary School and Point West Mobil Home Community. It is funded by FUMC, grants, and donations, as well as grants from other community groups. KKC follows the Tippecanoe County School Calendar for both vacations and weather cancellations.

We are looking for reliable men and women who enjoy working with children and helping them to succeed academically.  Although it is not necessary, a knowledge of Spanish is helpful. Salary is based on an 18-week semester. A background check at no cost to the applicant, is required.
