LUM Jubilee Christmas will soon be upon us! Don’t be a Scrooge and say “Bah, humbug”.
Each year, First Church hosts LUM Jubilee to help make Christmas a little more joyful for children and families in our community. This year’s LUM Jubilee will be on Saturday, December 9 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Ebenezer Scrooge is always looking over Bob Cratchit’s ledger book to make sure his calculations are balanced. There will be 37 families who will attend Jubilee Christmas and will receive:
- 3 toys for each child, 0 – 12 years old (258 total toys)
- Families with teens will get a $30 gift card.
- Each family receives a plate of cookies and a $40 or $50 food/meat card.
Volunteers in a variety of positions and tasks are needed to help make this event even more special for the children:
- Serve as a host on December 9 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Bring in cookies (no nuts please). Cookies may be dropped off to the church office December 4-8 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Help setting up toys in the Activity Center.
- Donate money. We will need at least $2,150 to pay for the family food certificates and teen gift cards. Plus more if we don’t receive enough toys and need to buy more.
- Donate toys for children ages 0-12 years old. This year we will need 258 toys in a price range of $10-$20 each please.
Toys on the FUMC wish list may be ordered through Amazon, but must arrive before Monday, December 5, to FUMC, 1700 Mitch Daniels Blvd, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
