Friend of First Church, Rev. Jamalyn Peigh Williamson of Zamni Fondwa has reached out to our congregation for assistance with the Food Crisis in Fondwa.

Friends of Fondwa,

Good afternoon. I just finished a phone call with our Haitian Director of Operations, Luckner Raymond who is reporting that there is a food crisis in Fondwa. He says, “The country is locked and no one can find the key. It is the worst situation I have ever seen in my country.”

Usually, I am writing you to seek help in building homes for our friends in Fondwa. Today, I am asking for something much more basic — I am asking you to help us provide food.  Our Fondwa leadership team is working to distribute food to our community. Nothing fancy, rice and cooking oil. We hope we can add beans to the distribution too once they locate beans to buy.

Please consider a donation of $40 to would provide rice and oil for a family for a month. Our goal is to reach every family in Fondwa (around 2,400 families). Until the gas and government crisis is stable, we are committed to feeding Fondwa.

Please join us in this effort by feeding our friends in Fondwa by sending a check to Zanmi Fondwa, P.O. Box 113, Zionsville, IN 46077, or donating here.

Thank you and God bless —

Jamalyn
