Rediscover the gift of Advent that comes without packages, ribbons and bows.

This Advent season we will look at a familiar holiday classic through the lens of faith and see how Christ speaks to us through our culture. Our discussions and Advent lessons will be based upon the Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas using the book The Heart That Grew Three Sizes: Finding Faith in the Story of the Grinch* by Matt Rawle, lead pastor of Asbury United Methodist in Bossier City, LA.

Rawle explores four main faith themes in this story: “When Everything is Wrong,” “When Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” “When Light Shines,” and “When Joy is Our Song.”

All adults are invited to this church-wide Advent class. We will meet in the Activity Center from 10:00-10:50am each Advent Sunday, November 24 to December 18. Holiday goodies and coffee or tea will be available during each class. During the First Sunday Brunch on December 4, we encourage you to sit at designated discussion tables while enjoying brunch delights.

*The book is optional, but can be purchased through Cokesbury,  Amazon, and other book outlets.
