Introducing the Purdue Outdoor Catholics, fondly known as OutCats! This spirited group of around 20 Catholic college students finds joy in connecting with nature and making a positive impact on the community. Currently, the OutCats are actively involved in restoring the “Chapel in the Woods” nature area behind First Church. Originally established as an Eagle Scout Project, this peaceful spot has faced challenges with fallen trees obstructing pathways and trails. Here’s an interesting tidbit: a majority of the OutCats’ eight officers proudly hold the esteemed title of Eagle Scouts!

Reflecting on the project, Dylan Esguerra from the Purdue OutCats shares, “This endeavor has not only breathed new life into the ‘Chapel in the Woods’ but has also fostered a profound sense of shared Christian fellowship among our group members. Thank you to First Church for warmly welcoming us into this meaningful collaboration!”
