This year KKC served 15 families with a total of 23 children enrolled. Three of those children deal with learning difficulties requiring one-on-one tutoring. For the first time, children who began the program in kindergarten are now fifth graders preparing to enter middle school in the fall. Our Lenten conversations have explored questions that emerge from the stories in our weekly Gospel texts. Diana Hoke will be selling Easter centerpiece-gift creations between the 9 am and 11 am services on Palm Sunday, April 2 as a fundraiser for our FUMC mission, Tippecanoe ACTS. Each 5″x4″ Butterfly Box contains three homemade, hand-decorated sugar cookies (one large Easter egg and two smaller springtime shapes such as butterflies or tulips.) Klondike Kids Club is an after school program sponsored by First United Methodist Church, offering tutoring and food to families at no charge. When school is in session, children gather in the Point West Mobile Home Community Club House Monday through Thursday to eat a nutritious snack and do their homework.
